Patrician Riches is a game that is similar to Mafia Wars. In this game players are required to buy the different types of patrician goods to be able to buy more expensive goods and jobs to expand their business. When starting out the game, the player is allowed to do nothing. This will make the game much easier to start out with since there is no need to spend money or work. Players can only buy new items and clothes however.

So in order to get started with this game one would have to join one of the many Facebook groups where people are talking about this game. The Patrician Riches review I did was part of a sponsored contest from Zynga. The winner of this contest was given a code to download a free copy of the game for me to give away. I was very happy to win this contest as it was such an easy game to play. For my review I included some of my time playing the game and explaining its mechanics.

Patrician Riches is a game where players can buy clothes to wear and various other goods that can be used to gain money. These include making repairs, buying crops, digging ditches and plowing land. When money is built up players can buy larger buildings such as farms, factories and hotels. Farms are used to produce food that is sold to consumers. To eat these foods players must eat the food provided.

Farms are also used to raise animals. Once the animals have been bought, they can be put to pasture which will attract more animals. Different animals are easier to raise than others. Therefore, players will want to put some effort into raising animals. Once again money is earned by buying food for the animals and selling the produce.

The one annoying thing about this game is that after a while it gets really boring. There is very little variation in the patterns that are repeated so much. This means that most people will stop playing the game at around level ten or twelve. This is not a big problem, because once you have reached this level you can go back and play it all over again. The nice thing is that it is very easy to learn how to play Patrician Riches so this should not be a problem.

The one complaint that I have is that the game requires constant updates. I find it hard to believe that this game could ever get any more updates if it was popular. Most people play the game for around twenty minutes at most and then move onto something else. If the update were to be added somewhere in the middle of the game it would be upsetting since most players expect to play the game how they always play. Fortunately Patrician Riches stays pretty much as is.

That being said, Patrician Riches does have its fair share of drawbacks and these are quite minor. The biggest problem I have seen is that after a while you might start to notice that your character doesn't move as fast as other people do, but this is not a huge problem. It's easily fixed by switching to a new class of character. Another minor glitch that you may run into is that you cannot equip some weapons until you get a certain amount of money.

Overall I give the game a thumbs up for having the least glitches that exist on an online RTS game. The time spent on trying to figure out how to play the game was enjoyable. Most people seem to like the overall concept of the game and the idea of playing as a royalty seems to be a fun one. If you are someone who enjoys playing role playing games then you should definitely look at Patrician Riches. It has aged well and is still one of the best games out there.
